Concerts in Milan: Getting to San Siro and Assago Forum Without Your Luggage

Coming to Milan for a concert often means arriving with more than you want to carry into the venue. You might have a suitcase from your train journey, an overnight backpack or shopping bags from an afternoon in the city.

Lock & Go Milano Centrale provides automated luggage storage at Via Tonale 5, near the railway station. The facility is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so you can leave your luggage before the event and return after the show.

From Centrale FS metro station:

This guide covers both routes, return journeys, event bag policies and how to organise storage around your concert.

Transport and service information checked on 15 October 2026. Check ATM and your event organiser for the arrangements applying to your event date.

Why store your bags before a concert?

A concert day can involve several separate stages: travelling to Milan, meeting friends, eating, reaching the venue and returning after the show.

Leaving your travel luggage before heading out gives you fewer belongings to manage through that sequence.

It is particularly useful when:

Plan storage as part of the whole day. The collection point should fit where you need to go after the event.

What we learned from Bad Bunny concertgoers

At Lock & Go Milano Centrale, our team saw a strong increase in customers around Bad Bunny’s Milan visit.

That experience showed us how relevant luggage storage can be on a major concert day. When the show is the reason for the trip, having somewhere to leave travel bags becomes part of planning the event.

Our advice is to choose your storage location and check locker availability before arriving, especially if you need a particular compartment size.

Check the exact venue on your ticket

Bad Bunny’s 2026 Milan dates were scheduled at Ippodromo SNAI La Maura.

La Maura and San Siro Stadium are separate venues. A concert described as taking place in the San Siro area does not necessarily use the stadium entrances or the same pedestrian route.

Use the venue name and gate information on your ticket, together with the organiser’s event-specific directions.

For context, see the official Live Nation information for the 2026 La Maura events. Those arrangements relate to the listed events and should not be assumed to apply to future concerts.

Lock & Go Milano Centrale Address: Via Tonale 5, Milan, Italy Opening hours: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week Payment: electronic payments only

The facility is separate from the railway station building. Use the published address to reach it, then return to Centrale FS metro station for your journey to the venue.

This arrangement can be convenient if you arrive through Centrale and plan to collect your luggage in the same area after the event.

How to get from Milano Centrale to San Siro Stadium

For a stadium concert, the standard metro route is M2 followed by M5.

Step-by-step route

  1. At Centrale FS, take M2, the green line, towards Assago Forum or Piazza Abbiategrasso.
  2. Get off at Garibaldi FS.
  3. Change to M5, the lilac line, towards San Siro Stadio.
  4. Get off at San Siro Stadio and follow the signs and event instructions for your entrance.

Both southbound M2 branches serve Garibaldi FS, so either destination works for this first part of the stadium journey.

Finding your entrance

Check the gate or entrance assigned to your ticket before arriving. Reaching the metro station does not mean you have reached the correct stadium gate.

Allow time for the walk, event queues and security checks.

Use the official San Siro visitor information and your concert organiser’s instructions to plan the final approach.

How to return from San Siro to Milano Centrale

During normal metro service, reverse the route:

  1. Take M5 towards Bignami.
  2. Change at Garibaldi FS.
  3. Take an M2 service towards Centrale FS, normally displaying Gessate or Cologno Nord.
  4. Get off at Centrale FS, then walk to Via Tonale 5 to collect your bags.

Check the train display and service announcements, particularly after large events. Some services may have different destinations or operating arrangements.

Crowd management can also affect which station entrances or walking routes are available.

Use the ATM journey planner for the expected time of your return.

How to get from Milano Centrale to Assago Forum

Assago Forum is officially named Unipol Forum. You may also encounter its former name, Mediolanum Forum, in older directions.

Venue address: Via Giuseppe di Vittorio 6, Assago.

The arena is served by the M2 terminus Assago Milanofiori Forum, also shown as Assago Forum.

Step-by-step route

  1. Enter Centrale FS metro station.
  2. Take M2, the green line, on a train displaying Assago Milanofiori Forum or Assago Forum.
  3. Stay on the train until the terminus.
  4. Follow the pedestrian signs to the arena and your event entrance.

Choose the correct M2 branch

The southbound M2 line divides towards Assago Forum and Piazza Abbiategrasso.

For a direct journey to the arena, board an Assago-bound train.

If you accidentally take the Abbiategrasso branch, change at Famagosta for an Assago-bound service.

Stay on until Assago Forum; Assago Milanofiori Nord is a different stop.

Consult the official Unipol Forum directions before travelling.

How to return from Assago Forum to Milano Centrale

During normal M2 service, take a train from Assago Forum back towards Milan and get off at Centrale FS.

Check that your service calls at Centrale, especially when additional trains or shortened services are running after an event.

ATM sometimes extends services for particular concerts, but the arrangements are tied to specific dates. A late train advertised for one event should not be assumed to run after another.

Check the ATM information page for events at Assago Forum close to your concert date.

Which metro ticket do you need?

The standard Mi1–Mi3 ticket covers journeys from central Milan to both San Siro Stadio and Assago Forum.

At the time of checking:

TicketPriceValidity
Ordinary Mi1–Mi3 ticket€2.2090 minutes from first validation
Mi1–Mi3 day ticket€7.6024 hours from first validation

A ticket used before the concert will normally have expired by the time you return. Arrange a valid ticket or payment for the return journey.

If you hold a Milan-only urban season pass, check its coverage separately: Assago is outside the municipality, and the urban pass alone does not cover that destination.

ATM also supports contactless payment on its services.

Check current ATM tickets and fares before travelling.

Can you collect your luggage after the concert?

Yes. Lock & Go Milano Centrale is open 24/7, including weekends and public holidays.

You can return after a late event and follow your booking instructions to collect your belongings.

Include the full evening when planning your storage period:

A late finish is easier to manage when your storage plan includes the journey back.

Does the metro run all night after concerts?

Do not assume all-night metro service.

Lock & Go remains open around the clock, while public transport follows its own timetable.

Before the event:

  1. Check the last usable services for your route.
  2. Read any event-specific ATM announcements.
  3. Check connecting lines as well as the first train.
  4. Allow time to leave the venue and reach the station.
  5. Identify a backup route if the metro journey will not be available.

An extension on one line does not necessarily mean every connecting line also runs later.

If you plan to use a taxi or booked transfer, follow the event’s pickup instructions and allow for demand after the show.

Can you take a suitcase or backpack into the venue?

Bag rules depend on the venue and the particular event.

Check the organiser’s instructions for:

San Siro directs concert visitors to the organiser’s rules. Unipol Forum also asks visitors to check for additional restrictions set by the event organiser.

Useful sources:

Do not plan around an on-site cloakroom unless its availability and suitability have been confirmed for your event.

What should you take to the concert?

Prepare the belongings you need before closing your locker.

A practical essentials list is:

Only take accessories permitted by the organiser.

For mobile tickets, check whether the ticket must be displayed in the official app. A screenshot may not work for every ticket type.

Keep your locker confirmation and access information available for collection.

Which locker size should you book?

Lock & Go offers three sizes:

LockerDimensions in centimetresApproximate dimensions in inchesStarting hourly rate
Mini35×35×45 cm14×14×18 inFrom €1.49
Standard48×45×85 cm19×18×33 inFrom €2.49
Maxi48×61×85 cm19×24×33 inFrom €3.49

Use the centimetre measurements for a close fit.

Measure bags including wheels, handles and external pockets. If friends are sharing a compartment, consider how all the belongings will fit together.

The starting hourly rate is not the total price for every booking. Review the amount for your chosen duration before payment.

Should you book before a major concert?

Booking ahead is useful when you already know your arrival date and need a particular locker size.

Our experience with Bad Bunny concertgoers highlighted how demand can increase around major events.

Choose the correct date, location and compartment size, then save the confirmation.

For a group, decide who will manage the booking and whether everyone will return together. Separate lockers may be more practical if people have different departure plans.

Can you pay in cash at Lock & Go?

No. Lock & Go does not accept cash payments.

Use one of the electronic payment methods available during online booking or at the facility.

Have your preferred payment method ready before arriving.

A practical concert-day plan

On arrival in Milan

Drop off your luggage, organise your event essentials and save the return instructions.

Check the venue name and entrance on your ticket. Confirm whether you are heading to San Siro Stadium, Unipol Forum in Assago or another location.

Before travelling to the venue

Review the live transport information and the event’s door-opening time.

Allow for walking, interchange time and admission checks, rather than planning only around the performance start.

If you have spare time, keep the pre-concert itinerary compact.

Our guide to things to do near Milan Duomo in two to four hours can help you plan a central visit before heading to the show.

After the performance

Follow the organiser’s exit instructions, check transport updates and return to collect your luggage.

If you have a train or flight afterwards, include collection in your departure schedule. Do not build a tight connection around an assumed concert finishing time.

For a trip that also involves checking out of accommodation, read how to organise your last day in Milan after hotel check-out.

Would luggage storage near the Duomo work instead?

The right location depends on your complete itinerary.

Milano Centrale can be convenient when you arrive by train, use M2 for the venue journey and want to collect your bags in the station area.

The Duomo District may fit better if your accommodation and your plans after the event are central.

For that option, read our guide to luggage storage near Milan Duomo.

If you also plan to visit the cathedral, check the separate Milan Duomo luggage and bag rules. Cathedral admission rules do not determine what is allowed at a concert.
